God’s Mysteries

Jesus on the Cross

Mark 4:11 And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables.”  (This verse clearly implies that Jesus was speaking of only his followers who truly follow him comprehend any part of Christianity or the word of God. To read scripture is one thing, to absorb the Word is entirely different.)

Ephesians 1:9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ  (again indicating that the mystery is only comprehended through Jesus)

Romans 16:25b the mystery that was kept secret for long ages (this tells us that before Jesus came to Earth, the mystery was unable to be fully comprehended)

Colossians 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ (this simply points back to my previous statements that Jesus himself, is the ultimate mystery that the Bible reveals)

Colossians 1:27b this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (the mystery solved through the revealing and accepting of Jesus brings a real,  hope of glory to the individual)

Ephesians 3:3-4 how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ,(Paul clearly stating that the mystery was revealed to him, through Jesus and then reflecting it to the congregation in Ephesus for absorption)

Ephesians 3:9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things (once again, the mysteries were hidden until Jesus time on Earth, by he himself. Also, speaking about ministering to those who still do not know Jesus)

Ephesians 5:32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. (church meaning those who truly believe in Jesus)

Revelation 10:7 in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets. (the full ministry can never be fully comprehended by mere humans, only to his servants and faithful upon the time of the return of Jesus)

All of these verses together pretty much state that the reason outsiders do not understand Jesus is because their eyes are blinded from the mysteries of God. Only once they accept Jesus into their hearts can they even “begin” to understand. And even still, the full comprehension will not occur until the time of revelation.

Stay Blessed,

Chris
